Cruise Outs / Cruise Ins

Camaraderie of the Seas!

Cruise Outs

Cruise Outs are a great way to take your personal boat out for a spin to another yacht club and to meet members of other yacht clubs in the Bay Area and beyond! If you don't own a boat, there are often opportunities to join other Club members on their boats. Certain Cruise-Outs occur annually, such as the Club's Cruise Out to Encinal Yacht Club in Alameda.

Cruise Ins

Cruise Ins happen all year long, but Labor Day Weekend is typically the Club's largest Cruise-In.  In addition to Club events all weekend for members and guests, the Club hosts more than 20 other yacht clubs and nearly 50 boats for all of the weekend festivities.

Information for Cruise In Visitors

Mooring  The Half Moon Bay Yacht Club does not have any provisions for accommodating guest boats at our private dock, which is too shallow to accommodate larger keelboats and is occupied by Club-owned boats.  Please contact our Rear Commodore for permission to tie up dinghies, instructions for ferry use, and information on visiting the Club on specific dates.
There are no guest docks in the Pillar Point Harbor marina.  The Harbor does not take reservations, but it is possible for a transient boat to occupy an open slip on a first come, first served basis. (Slips are difficult to get during fishing and crabbing season, when the marina is full of commercial boats.)  Boats should contact the Pillar Point Harbormaster's office when they are within the outer entrance buoys, either by phone 650/726-4382 or on VHF hailing channel 16 or working channel 74.
Pillar Point Harbor does have great anchorage in the outer harbor on the west side.
Local Services  There are many local hotels and restaurants for visitors to enjoy.  Information on them is here.
Launching  There are facilities to launch small, trailerable or car-topped boats, both at HMBYC and in the harbor.  More information is here.
