Adult Sailing

The Club encourages all members to make full use of the available facilities and boats, either to enhance their skills or simply to enjoy time on the water. Adult sailing classes are conducted twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall. Consult the Club Calendar for dates and times.

Before using a Club-owned boat, it will be necessary for you to be checked out by a designated Club skipper. This usually entails about an hour of sailing a Cal20 in the harbor during which your boat-handling skills will be evaluated. Think of it as a driving test on the water, only with someone more pleasant than your typical DMV employee.

There is no charge, beyond paying dues, for using the Club’s boats. Boats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Remember: Sailing is allowed only inside Pillar Point Harbor. PFDs must be worn at all times by everyone on the boat
