Sailing
While many HMBYC members own boats, it is not a prerequisite for joining the Club or enjoying sailing. The club owns a fleet of Cal20s, a seaworthy, safe and easily managed vessel that is available to members.
There is no additional cost beyond ordinary annual dues.
All one needs to do is learn the basics of sailing in adult sail training classes offered by the Club and get checked out by one of several senior Club sailors.

Email examiner@hmbyc.org to schedule a check out test. In your email be sure to state your preferred date and time you would like to take the test.
Note that a test can only be passed if there is sufficient wind to fully test your on-the-water skills – so take that into account when scheduling your test.
Before taking the test, it is a good idea to review the examination to ensure you are fully prepared.

Other boats, such as Lasers, Coronado 15s and kayaks are also available to checked-out members. Sailing of Club boats is permitted only within the confines of Pillar Point Harbor.
